Their people were the differentiator. No one outside the company knew it.

Fischbach & Moore

Skilled trades companies earn trust through the quality of their work. But quality is invisible until someone sees the people behind it. Fischbach & Moore didn't need a capabilities video — they needed the outside world to meet their crew.

Complex Nonprofit

The science had never been more promising. Most donors had no idea the window even existed.

National Down Syndrome Society

Nearly all adults with Down syndrome will develop Alzheimer's disease. For the first time, large-scale clinical trials are available to this population — a rare scientific window that may not open again for a decade. NDSS needed major donors to understand both the urgency of that moment and their own role in it. That requires more than awareness. It requires a specific kind of clarity.

Everyone thought they knew what a board game cafe was. That was the problem.

Tavern of Tales

Tavern of Tales is a board game cafe on Mission Hill in Boston — except that description undersells it so badly it almost works against them. Private rooms, game masters who run the experience for you, custom sound design, curated food and drink. The category name sets the wrong expectations before a single customer walks in the door.

Deep Technical B2B

The biggest unsolved problem in enterprise cybersecurity. Most of the people responsible for fixing it didn't know it existed.

Onapsis

Onapsis protects the business-critical ERP applications — SAP, Oracle — that run 77% of the world's revenue. The threat to these systems is real, documented by US-CERT, and exploited by nation-states. The challenge was that the very executives responsible for enterprise security had largely never considered these applications as attack surfaces. You can't sell protection against a risk someone doesn't believe they have.

Their clinicians knew the protocols. In a crisis, every second depends on executing them correctly.

Boston Children’s Hospital

When Ebola cases began appearing outside West Africa, hospitals across the United States needed to prepare for a disease few clinicians had ever encountered firsthand. Boston Children’s Hospital developed detailed cross-department protocols — but procedures that complex are difficult to absorb through written documents alone.

Their product was solving a national supply chain crisis. Their audience had no idea.

EFC Gases & Advanced Materials

EFC is the only domestic producer of the ultra-pure gases that semiconductor chips require. The technology is real, the strategic importance is significant — but none of that travels without explanation. The question wasn't what to say. It was how to make a technically complex advantage feel urgent and trustworthy to the people who needed to act on it.

Their model was genuinely different from every other principal prep program in the country. The people who needed to fund it, join it, and partner with it couldn't tell.

Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College

Lynch Leadership Academy brings together charter, district, and Catholic school principals — three sectors that rarely collaborate — and trains them as organizational executives, not just educators. The program is built on the idea that a principal is essentially a CEO, and should be developed accordingly. The communication challenge was making that model legible to three very different audiences at once: donors, school systems, and aspiring principals.

Their customers couldn't see the full value of what they did — until they were already deep into a crisis.

Gustavo Preston

Gustavo Preston designs, sells, and services commercial water and pump systems across New England. Their competitive advantage is built on technical depth, 24/7 responsiveness, and the kind of institutional knowledge that only comes from knowing 90% of the mechanical rooms in Boston. None of that is visible from the outside until something goes wrong.

Hometap

Hometap offers homeowners access to their equity without a loan or monthly payments — a genuinely novel financial product that requires a shift in how people think about their homes before they can trust it. Their experts knew the business inside and out. Their own employees couldn't access that knowledge.

Coverys

Coverys is a leading medical malpractice insurer that had grown significantly through acquisition. The expertise inside the firm — underwriting philosophy, risk management approach, specialty and E&S markets — lived with senior leaders in individual conversations. Getting that knowledge to travel consistently across a growing, distributed workforce was the real challenge.

Bond Brothers

Crown Uniform & Linen

Crown Uniform & Linen is a fourth-generation family-owned industrial laundry company with a state-of-the-art facility, a genuine commitment to sustainability, and a workforce culture built on personal relationships. The problem was that almost none of that was visible. The industry carries a stereotype — exploited workers, environmental contamination — and Crown was the opposite of it in every meaningful way.
