Skillman Video Group’s Pre-Production for SEO Video Shoot

Pre-Production

(October 7, 2014) – At Skillman Video Group, we will be shooting a series of SEO videos in our office over the course of one afternoon.

The intent of this shoot is to build additional video content while also improving upon SEO in the process.  Video content is a surefire way to help with SEO and your online efforts overall.  You can never have enough.

Video will build trust, authority, and important business relationships. A portfolio brimming with video content will create a defining sense of dedication and professionalism.

Another reason for the shoot is to create videos that provide answers in a more conversational, human way.

With the rise of voice search and mobile, it’s important to make sure that you can put a human face on your company or brand that can be viewed from any device.

The Planning

We didn’t just jump right in, however.  A lot of planning and research went into the endeavor.

It all started with keywords.  Our team looked into what questions people have been asking on Google and took the keywords from there.

We used these keywords as a jumping off point, turning them into questions that people may be asking, so that we could answer them through a series of videos and lead people to our content.

From there, we planned the length (about 1-2 minutes), the format (talking head), and so on.  Once we had those details sorted out, we went out and did research to create talking points for each of the videos.

Getting the Cameras Rolling

The topics were set and assigned, and the research bloomed into informative talking points.

Each of us focused on different, specific talking points that we felt particularly knowledgeable about.

And where did we go from there?  We set a date for the videos to be shot in our office, planning to bring the proper equipment, dress, and prepared talking points.
